Original Broadcast Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, is a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals. Launched in May 2012, its Social Media Law & Policy Report is an integrated resource for the latest legal developments, analysis, and case law in social media. The Social Media Law & Policy Report provides the latest social media legal developments, analysis, case law, primary sources, and practice tools - including sample policies and checklists. Social Media Law & Policy Report is available directly from Bloomberg BNA and on the Bloomberg Law legal research system and Bloomberg Professional service.
Social media is taking the world by storm—and the legal field is no exception. Lawyers are increasingly turning to social media outlets—such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook—blogs and other online tools to keep up to date, find new providers, bolster their careers and expand their networking opportunities, according to the 2012 In-House Counsel New Media Engagement Survey, which was conducted by Greentarget, InsideCounsel and the legal consulting firm Zeughauser Group.
Notably, counsel in their 40s, 50s and 60s are using new media more than they did two years ago. However, best practices, protocol and security concerns are issues that need to be addressed before embarking on any professional social networking strategy, specifically in the legal profession.
Join InsideCounsel for this live, interactive webcast, sponsored by Bloomberg BNA, and hear from industry experts regarding the best ways to get the most out of new social media tools while minimizing risk.
