It’s not the first suit of its kind and likely won’t be the last. A mother in California is suing Monster Beverage, manufacturer of the Monster energy drinks, over her son’s death.
The American Medical Association said on Tuesday that it supports a ban on marketing energy drinks to children.
On Dec. 16, 2011, Anais Fournier had a 24-ounce can of Monster Energy drink. On Dec. 17, she had another one. By that evening, Fournier was in cardiac arrest, and six days later, she was dead.
