InsideCounsel Recognizes Innovative Legal Departments with Annual IC10 List

CHICAGO, IL (Aug. 30, 2011) –InsideCounsel, a Summit Business Media publication, names its 2011 IC10 winners in its September issue. IC10 is an annual list compiled by InsideCounsel through nominations submitted by readers and advertisers. Those who make the list show a knack for creatively solving problems facing law departments.

“In the years following the economic downturn, inside counsel have been faced with tightening budgets, smaller staffs and logistical challenges,” reported Editor-in-Chief Cathleen Flahardy. “As a result of the extreme pressure of confronting these challenges, we are seeing in-house counsel find innovative ways to work around these issues.”

The legal leaders chosen have developed novel solutions for many of the obstacles that inside counsel encounter. Perseverant and proactive, this year’s IC10 winners are true pioneers who have a passion for improving not only their law departments, but also their companies. Their efforts triggered ingenuity, cut costs, strengthened morale and sparked success. 2011 winners are:

  • NetApp
  • Newegg
  • Palace Entertainment
  • Northeast Utilities
  • The Hartford
  • Pfizer
  • Nationwide Insurance
  • AGCO
  • OfficeMax
  • CA Technologies

The September issue also includes an article on a Supreme Court decision that may have a lasting impact on patent infringement cases, plus a regulatory story covering location-based mobile apps creating privacy concerns. September’s Paying It Forward department explores how Corgill’s legal department is helping residents with housing needs.
