The IC10 | 2011’s Most Innovative Legal Departments

Read about the 2011 IC10 winners and read on for information on how to nominate your legal department for this year's issue.

Do You Work for One of the 10 Most Innovative Legal Departments in the Country?

In September 2012, InsideCounsel will publish the "InsideCounsel 10" — a profile of 10 legal departments that have developed innovative ways to solve the problems that beleaguer law departments.

The article will showcase the best practices employed by today's in-house legal community.

We are searching for departments that have found innovative ways of dealing with such issues as managing outside counsel or other legal vendors, providing business value to the client, using technology to boost efficiency, increasing diversity in the department, handling a public relations crisis, managing a budget, or retaining staff. (These are just a few of the areas we will be looking at, but it is by no means a comprehensive list).

If your department has developed an innovative way of dealing with a problem that is unique to corporate legal departments, then we want to hear from you.

In 2011, when we asked you to tell us about your creative best practices, you delivered a fascinating array of ideas. Last year's submissions ranged from developing a satellite legal department to bringing document review in-house to creating humorous videos to make compliance training more fun.

We hope this year's IC10 once again proves that with a little creative thinking and initiative, legal departments large and small can find inexpensive ways to be more effective, more efficient and more valuable to their clients.

If your story is selected to be in InsideCounsel, an editor will contact you to set up an interview. We won't publish any of the information you include without first obtaining your permission.

For consideration, please fill out the online nomination form.

DEADLINE: June 22.
