Coca-Cola Enterprises in Atlanta has promoted John R. Parker Jr. to senior vice president and general counsel. He succeeds John J. Culhane, who resigned. Most recently Parker was senior vice president of strategic initiatives for Coca Cola Enterprises.

Seattle, Wash.-based Washington Mutual Inc. has named Michael Solender chief legal officer of the company. He previously served as general counsel of Bear Stearns in New York.

Jane Sherburne, currently general counsel for Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group, has been named general counsel at Charlotte, N.C.-based Wachovia. She will replace Mark Treanor, who will retire.

H. Maura Lendon has been named vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at HudBay Minerals Inc. in Manitoba, Canada. She most recently was chief counsel and chief privacy officer in Canada for New York City-based AT&T. She replaces Brian Gordon, who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities.

Cary, N.C.-based R.H. Donnelley, a leading print and online local search company, has named Mark W. Hianik senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Hianik replaces Robert Bush, who will remain in an operational role at the company. Hianik was previously vice president and assistant general counsel at Tribune Co. in Chicago.

Dulles, Va.-based Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) has promoted Philip Sunderland to vice president and general counsel. He replaces Edward Faggen, who has retired. Sunderland previously was secretary and counsel for MWAA’s board of directors.

Donna Hargrove has been named general counsel at Charlotte, N.C.-based AmWINS Group Inc., a wholesale insurance broker. Prior to joining AmWINS, Hargrove was lead corporate in-house counsel for Charlotte-based BB&T Insurance Services Inc.

Lansing Board of Water & Light in Lansing, Mich. has named Brandie Ekren as the public utility’s new General Counsel. Prior to joining BWL, Ekren served as in-house counsel for Benefit Services at Hantz Group Inc. in Southfield, Mich.

Roslyn, N.Y.-based The N.I.R. Group, a highly-specialized investment management firm and PIPE investment fund manager, has named Yoel Goldfeder general counsel. Goldfeder was previously a member of the corporate and securities department of Sichenzia Ross Friedman Ference.

Denver-based UDR Inc. has named of Warren L. Troupe to the newly created position of senior executive vice president and general counsel. Troupe was most recently a partner at Morrison & Forester where he served as chair of the Denver Corporate Group.

Detroit-based Verizon Wireless has promoted Barrington Lopez to general counsel, Midwest Area. Previously, Lopez was assistant general counsel of Business and Strategic Alliances for the company.

NYSE Euronext has hired John Halvey as general counsel and group executive vice president, replacing Rachel Robbins, who has left the company. Halvey most recently served as corporate partner in New York office of international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.

SLM Corp., known as Sallie Mae, has promoted Michael Sheehan to general counsel.
Sheehan most recently was the company's lead securities lawyer on filings and disclosures with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
