Midstream Regulatory Counsel (J5365)

BarkerGilmore has been engaged by one of the firm’s premier clients, a prestigious Fortune 500 Company, to identify an experienced regulatory counsel for their Midstream business.  The position will be located in theHoustonarea and relocation assistance is available.  BarkerGilmore has had an exceptional track record of placing stellar talent with this industry leader.  Once a lawyer joins this company’s world class law department, they typically stay for the duration of their career.

 

Provide experienced, high quality legal advice and counsel to pipeline management and field teams in the following areas:

 

  • Gas and crude regulatory issues involving pipeline regulation by the FERC, the MMS, the STB, and state equivalents, under the Interstate Commerce Act, the Natural Gas Act, and similar state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Pipeline safety and environmental, including DOT and state equivalents.
  • Handling of agency proceedings in state and federal venues, with emphasis on regulatory issues and compliance.
  • Transactional matters, including general goods and services contracting and contracts for the purchase and sale of substantial assets such as pipeline companies or systems.
  • General corporate legal advice and counsel
  • Advice and counsel relating to business entity formation and governance, including joint ventures, partnerships, and LLCs.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Juris Doctor in Law required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant oil and gas industry experience, preferably a thorough understanding of legal and commercial issues related to the operation of interstate and intrastate energy pipelines and other midstream assets.
