Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, the Staff Attorney will draft, review and advise on a broad array of contracts and other transactional matters and provide legal advice in the area of real estate (including purchases and sales, construction contracts, leases, real estate taxation and zoning), assume responsibility for other practice areas as needed (with appropriate training), and handle other duties assigned. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education or Responsibilities: 

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; admission to State and Federal practice in Illinois; and three to six years of strong experience in broad-based and sophisticated contract review, particularly real estate matters.

Computer Skills: 

Proficient word processing computer skills.

Qualifications: 

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and ranking in upper fourth of law school class; admission to state and federal practice in Illinois; minimum of 3 years of meaningful experience (other than litigation) in real estate and in drafting and reviewing contracts. Prior experience representing higher education or not-for-profit clients is a plus. Candidates must have excellent analytical and written and oral communication skills.
