Adobe chooses Lecorpio to increase value of IP portfolio

Adobe deploys Lecorpio’s cloud-based IP management solution in digital marketing and media solutions

As innovation becomes mission critical, Intellectual Property (IP) has become a much more important business driver at Adobe. The tech giant’s priorities are to accelerate invention disclosures, as well as to improve productivity and business insights to maximize the value of its IP solutions.

So, Adobe recently decided to deploy Lecorpio’s solution to better manage its fast growing global IP portfolio. Lecorpio, the cloud-based IP management and analytics solution provider, is providing Adobe with capabilities including budget transparency, an idea-to-asset workflow, and end-to-end visibility across Adobe’s IP portfolio. This allows Adobe to connect its global network of inventors and outside partners through one secure IP ecosystem.  Adobe has a team of researchers that create innovative technologies relevant to Lecorpio’s software products, and these researchers have looked into the future to explore innovations in advance of identified customer needs.

“Based on our previous experience, we knew we wanted a partner whose solution could be configured to address our specific needs rather than us having to adapt to their processes,” said Tom Li, senior legal counsel, patents, at Adobe, recently told me in an exclusive interview. “Lecorpio is a great fit for us. They are nimble, eager to help us meet both known and unknown needs, have a transparent pricing model, offer multi-browser support, and take a holistic approach to IP asset management that we believe will significantly improve our IP workflow.”

Now, Adobe can manage its IP program with ease and budget with certainty. Most importantly, Adobe has gained critical insights across its global IP portfolio, enabling management to make well-informed business decisions. Jay Madsen, CEO at Lecorpio, said, “We're proud to know that Lecorpio's advanced analytics and intuitive management tools will provide Adobe with the kind of insights required to make highly informed, strategic business decisions.”

According to Li, Adobe was looking for a single place to manage its IP supply chain worldwide and the company knew it needed a solution that could be easily configured to its unique business processes. As a result, Lecorpio allows Adobe to spend its resources efficiently, eliminate inefficiencies, and align its IP strategy with its business strategy.

So, how exactly does it work? Lecorpio connects Adobe’s global network of inventors and outside partners by providing a single repository to manage every aspect of its IP supply chain. According to Li, the solution is built on a powerful workflow, which ensures that the right data gets to the right person at the right time.

He said, “This workflow provides a tremendous amount of insight into the efficiency of the program. Lecorpio also includes actionable analytics, which gives the IP department better visibility and enables them to make faster, smarter business decisions. “

Now, with the help of Lecorpio, Adobe can continue to protect its investments in software across the globe with a robust IP portfolio, which maintain its competitive advantage.  Since Adobe’s software can be easily copied, IP makes sure that Adobe’s investment in R&D pays off.
