Phillips leads Trilantic team in forming Ward Energy Partners

Vinson & Elkins partner Caroline Blitzer Phillips led the team that advised Trilantic Capital Partners in partnering with Ward Petroleum Corp., to form a new oil and gas exploration and production company, Ward Energy Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ward Energy Partners will focus operations in various basins in Oklahoma and Eastern Colorado.

Their deep experience in creating value within the energy sector will be a great asset to us as we look to grow Ward Energy Partners,” Ward Energy Partners CEO Bill Ward said in a statement. “We see great potential in each of these liquid-rich basins and are excited to capitalize on the opportunities ahead of us.”

Trilantic is a private equity firm focused on control and significant minority investments in North America and Europe, with a primary investment focus in North America in the business services, consumer, energy and financial services sectors. Trilantic currently manages five institutional private equity funds with aggregate capital commitments of $6.2 billion.

Based in Vinson & Elkins’ New York office, Philips advises clients in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and general corporate and securities matters. She has substantial experience with clients throughout all aspects of the energy industry, including oil and gas exploration and production, transportation and midstream, power, oilfield services, coal and renewables and clean energy.
