Fato will succeed Vittor after 33 years of service

Lucy Fato, new GC of McGraw Hill Financial

Starting August 4, Lucy Fato will be the new executive vice president and general counsel of McGraw Hill Financial. Her new appointment was announced on July 7.

The president and chief executive officer of McGraw Hill Financial, Douglas L. Peterson, says, “Lucy is a highly accomplished attorney and leader. Her broad experience, business acumen and strong record of building legal teams strengthen our deep and talented management team.”

Fato is succeeding Kenneth M. Vittor, who is retiring after 33 years of service with McGraw Hill Financial. Since 1995, Vittor has been the general counsel leading the legal department. President Douglas Peterson states, “I want to thank Ken for his numerous and important contributions, leadership and sound advice during his successful career with us. We wish him the very best.” 

Lucy Fato has been working as vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. since 2005. Before that, she was a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York. She is currently a member of the board of directors of Amref Health Africa. Fato also received her bachelor and law degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
