Kristin Coleman named general counsel of Sears Holdings

Coleman becomes senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of company that includes Sears and Kmart

Sears Holdings, the company formed via the merger of Sears, Roebuck and Co. and the Kmart Corporation, has named Kristin M. Coleman as its new senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. 

Coleman earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School. Most recently, Coleman was vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for the Brunswick Corporation, a manufacturer of a variety of goods, from marine and fitness equipment to bowling and billiards accessories. Prior to her GC role at Brunswick, Coleman was a vice president and associate general counsel at Mead Johnson Nutrition Company, and before moving in house, she was an attorney with Sidley Austin, LLP.

In her new position with Sears, she will be lead the company’s legal team and oversee the corporate communications, environmental services, global compliance, government affairs, internal audit and product safety units.
