Dionne Lomax, previously a partner at Vinson & Elkins and a former trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, has joined the Washington, D.C., office of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo as a member in the Antitrust Section.

Lomax has an extensive background in antitrust and trade regulation law, with a particularly strong emphasis in the health care, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. She has represented clients before the DOJ and the Federal Trade Commission in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other commercial engagements. She counsels and represents clients engaged in litigation, international mergers and premerger notification filings.

“As dynamic change and consolidation continues across the health care industry, antitrust issues are increasingly becoming more prevalent and complex,” said Bruce D. Sokler, chair of Mintz Levin’s Antitrust Section in a statement. “Dionne’s wealth of experience further strengthens our long-standing capabilities in this important area. We are delighted to have her joining the firm.”

During her time at the DOJ, Lomax conducted a variety of civil merger and non-merger investigations. Her practice included reviewing Hart-Scott-Rodino filings, conducting witness interviews and depositions, drafting Second Requests and subpoenas, developing case strategies and preparing cases for trial.

She received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and graduated summa cum laude with a B.B.A. in Finance from Howard University. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Antitrust Section, Health Care Committee, and serves on the boards of several philanthropic organizations, including The Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia and Dress for Success Washington, D.C.
