The fallout from the Department of Veterans Affairs scandal over long wait times and falsified records has hit its legal department. The VA announced that Principal Deputy General Counsel Tammy Kennedy has been tapped to serve as acting general counsel after Acting Secretary Sloan D. Gibson accepted the resignation of GC Will A. Gunn, effective July 3.

According to the department, Gunn’s resignation was part of several personnel actions “aimed at accelerating veterans’ access to quality health care and rebuilding the trust of America’s Veterans.”
