Bertolini returns to K&L Gates

Gina Bertolini

Gina Bertolini has joined K&L Gates’ Research Triangle Park office as a partner in the health care practice. An associate with K&L Gates from 2003 to 2009, Bertolini rejoins the firm from the University of Michigan Health System, where she served as associate vice president and deputy general counsel.

At her previous job, Bertolini advised the health system on matters including state and federal laws, compliance, privacy, the Affordable Care Act, scientific research and discovery, strategic affiliations and medical education. Prior to that, she served as an assistant general counsel with the University of North Carolina (UNC) Health Care System, as well as legal director for the UNC Physicians Network, a community-based physician organization owned by UNC Health Care.

“We are very excited about Gina’s return to our health care practice,” said Mary Beth F. Johnston, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Research Triangle Park office and a leader of the firm’s health care practice, in a statement. “Her significant experience and capabilities in the representation of academic medical centers greatly adds to the breadth and depth of our practice.”
