Armstrong Teasdale partner Foster elected GC of St. Louis Urban League

The organization’s mission is to empower African Americans and others

Jovita Foster, a partner in Armstrong Teasdale’s litigation practice group, has been named general counsel to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. Elected to the board of directors in 2012, Foster now serves on the organization’s executive committee. The organization’s mission is to empower African Americans and others throughout the region by helping them secure economic self-reliance, social equality and civil rights.

The first African-American woman to be elected an equity partner at Armstrong Teasdale, Foster represents management in all facets of employment and labor law. Her clients include government agencies, municipalities, higher education systems and businesses of all sizes including Fortune 100 and 500 companies. She also serves as chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee. In this role, Foster is responsible for overseeing the firm’s diversity and inclusion programs and progress.

Foster received her J.D. in 2000 from Washington University School of Law. She earned her B.A. in 1997 from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
