Irene Freidel has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including federal and state class action litigation, and has represented clients in federal and state courts in all regions of the United States. She has participated in the trial of jury cases in state and federal courts, appeared before the Panel on Multi-District Litigation (MDL), and appeared and prepared appellate briefs in state and federal appellate courts.

Freidel regularly represents banks, mortgage lenders, mortgage loan servicers, and other consumer financial service institutions in putative national class, and state and multi-state class, actions. These matters have concerned challenges under federal statutes such as the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, as well as state statutory law claims and common law claims, including those bringing challenges to eligibility determinations under Treasury’s Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP).
