Skadden’s Gao leads Jumei International through $400M U.S. IPO

Like dozens of other Chinese companies looking to go public in the United States, Jumei International Holding Ltd. has turned to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP Partner Z. Julie Gao to guide it through the process.

Gao, based in Skadden’s Hong Kong office, is listed as lead underwriter counsel for the China-based marketer of beauty product’s $400 million IPO.

According to Skadden, in recent years Gao has advised on the IPOs and New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ listings of nearly 40 China-based companies in a variety of industries. Her practice also encompasses mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and dispositions, public company representations and other general corporate matters. She has represented a diverse group of clients, including companies, investment banks, private equity funds and high-net-worth individuals.

Gao, who is admitted to practice in California, has a J.D. from University of California, Los Angeles, an M.A. from the University of Alabama and an LL.B. from Peking University.
