There has been mixed news of late for powerful, professional women. Recent studies have shown that women tend to dominate the compliance officer field, but some believe that this is at the expense of positions in other business units. And, while there has been a dearth of female CEOs in the last year or so, studies indicate that the number of female chief executives may soon trend sharply upward.
And, while we are still a long way from seeing women holding one third of GC positions in the Fortune 500, there are initiatives in place to help bring attention to the accomplishments of female attorneys around the country. One such initiative has been put in place by San Francisco-based law firm Morrison & Foerster LLP (known as MoFo.)
