Gender-nonconforming BET host sues network for discrimination

B. Scott claims BET forced him to wear men’s clothes

A gender-nonconforming Black Entertainment Television (BET) host is suing the network for discrimination.

B. Scott, who is gay, biologically male and identifies as gender-nonconforming, is suing BET for forcing him to wear men’s clothing during a red carpet segment he hosted at the 2013 BET Awards this past June. On his blog, Scott claims the network forced him to pull back his hair, take off his makeup and change out of his pre-approved outfit, which included high heels.
