Bank of America intern found dead in London after allegedly working three nights in a row

Scotland Yard says the death is not suspicious

The controversy over internships reached a whole new level when police discovered Bank of America intern Moritz Erhardt dead in his apartment in London after working grueling hours for three days in a row.

Erhardt's internship was almost over—just one week left—when police and paramedics found him on Aug. 15. He suffered from epilepsy, according to CNBC, and had collapsed in his shower. According to unconfirmed social media reports, he had worked until 6 a.m. for three days straight.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the news of Moritz Erhardt's death," BofA spokesman John McIvor said in a statement. “He was popular amongst his peers and was a highly diligent intern at our company with a promising future.”

A pathologist is planning to do a toxicology examination to determine the cause of Erhardt's death, but Scotland Yard has said they aren't treating it as suspicious.
