Colin Stretch replaces Ted Ullyot in Facebook’s top legal spot

Colin Stretch has reason to celebrate—the former in-house counsel at Facebook has been named to the social media giant’s top legal spot.

Last month, Facebook’s General Counsel Ted Ullyot announced he would be stepping down from his position in July. He did not disclose his plans for the future, and the company launched its search.

Facebook didn’t have to look too far to find Ullyot’s replacement when naming Stretch. The deputy general counsel had been with the social media company since 2010, serving as the lead negotiator for Facebook’s settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over Facebook’s privacy litigation.

Stretch formerly was a partner at Kellogg Huber Hansen Todd Evans & Figel, and previous to that he served as a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.
