It’s not usually news when a partner makes a jump from one law firm to another, but when nearly a dozen lawyers from one firm head over to another as a team, it makes headlines.
Yesterday, Sidley Austin announced it was beefing up its securities enforcement and regulatory team with 11 lawyers—all from Bingham McCutchen. The new team includes 10 partners and one counsel—one of whom, Herbert F. Janick III, was previously general counsel of UBS Financial Services Inc.
“We are thrilled to bring this talented team of lawyers on board, each with extensive experience advising clients on some of today’s most complex securities enforcement and regulatory issues,” Carter Phillips, co-chair of Sidley’s Executive Committee, said in the firm’s press release. “The collective wisdom they bring complements that of our existing team of accomplished lawyers in this field. We welcome our new colleagues to the firm.”
Sidley has offices around the world, but the new partners will be based in Boston; Portland, Maine; San Francisco; New York; and Washington, D.C.
