9 noteworthy in-house career moves

Charting some of the most recent GC and in-house appointments

GC Appointments

Erin Lewin was appointed senior vice president and general counsel of Avnet Inc., a global technology distributor. Lewin joined the company in 2007, serving as chief ethics and compliance officer and, most recently, vice president and general counsel, Americas. She previously was managing director and associate general counsel of US Airways.


Adam Feldman joined Physicians’ Capital Investments (PCI), a medical real estate company, as general counsel. He previously worked at the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, where he was external counsel to the firm’s healthcare real estate clients, including PCI. His prior work experience also includes a stint as a founding partner at Patterson, Anderson & Feldman.

 

Automotive technology company PureCars named Morgan Malino general counsel and chief intellectual property officer. Malino most recently was the general counsel of Unity Semiconductor Corp., where he achieved a 100 percent patent grant rate. He also teaches patent law at the Charleston School of Law.


Elizabeth Evans is now vice president of land, general counsel and corporate secretary at Constellation Energy Partners. She joined the company in October 2009, and has served as its senior counsel for four years. Her prior work experience includes stints at Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and El Paso Corp.

 

American InfoSource hired Alice Whitten as general counsel. Since 2009, Whitten has been a Chapter 13 Trustee in Fort Worth, Texas. She previously worked in-house as senior vice president, associate general counsel and senior vice president-special accounts at AmeriCredit Corp. and AmeriCredit Financial Services.

Law Firm Moves

Scott Fulton, former general counsel of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), will join Beveridge & Diamond as a principal in its environmental and natural resource practice. Fulton served as the EPA’s top lawyer from January 2009 to January 2013, during which time he advised the agency on legal issues related to greenhouse gas emissions and regulations such as the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.


Stacy Fox joined Foley & Lardner as of counsel in its automotive and energy industry teams and its transactional and securities practice. Before joining the firm, Fox was senior vice president of strategy and general counsel of Sunoco Inc. She also has served as general counsel at the automotive suppliers Visteon Corp. and Collins & Aikman Corp.


Larry Silverman rejoined his former law firm, Dickie McCamey & Chilcote, following a 10-year tenure as senior vice president and general counsel of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Silverman worked at the firm for a decade before joining the Major League Baseball team. His prior work experience also includes a stint at Hollinshead Mendelson Bresnahan & Nixon.

 

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan hired Todd Lard as a partner in its state and local tax practice. Lard previously served as counsel at the firm, before leaving to serve as vice president and general counsel of the Council on State Taxation for five years.
