Catherine Kilbane joined Sherwin-Williams Co. as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. She comes to the company after nine years at American Greetings Corp., where she held the same title. Before her tenure at American Greetings, Kilbane was a partner at Baker Hostetler, where she specialized in commercial and intellectual property issues.

Citizens Energy Group named Jennett Hill vice president and general counsel, effective Feb. 1. Hill most recently was a partner at Faegre Baker Daniels, where she provided various legal services to her new employers. Before joining the firm 12 years ago, Hill spent a decade at IBM, where she was a systems engineer, systems design consultant and regional manager.

William Kunkel is now general counsel and executive vice president, legal, at American Equity Investment Life Holding Co., an underwriter of index and fixed rate annuities. Kunkel previously spent 28 years in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom before retiring in June 2012. At the firm, his practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate governance.

Steven Weinstein joined Rowan University as general counsel and vice president for governmental relations. Weinstein most recently was a partner at Florio Perrucci Steinhartdt & Fader, which he joined in 2010 after spending 27 years as a partner at Blank Rome. He joined the New Jersey-based university’s leadership team last month.

Stacie Pittell is now general counsel of the D.C. Board of Ethics and Government Accountability, an agency established in response to recent investigations of misconduct by city officials and public employees. Her prior work experience includes a four-year stint as the assistant inspector general for investigations at the D.C. Office of the Inspector General.
