Boies Schiller year-end bonuses top out at $250,000

Firm will again award bonuses based on productivity

Lawyers at Boies Schiller & Flexner are about to collect some major cash.

According to the Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog, the law firm will pay its associates year-end bonuses of up to $250,000, which is $50,000 more than the biggest year-end bonuses the law firm paid its associates last year. The lowest year-end bonuses will amount to $25,000.

Boies Schiller’s bonuses are based on productivity, including the number of hours its lawyers log, how much they bill and other factors.

Boies Schiller’s quarter-million-dollar bonuses far exceed the top year-end bonuses that other Big Law firms are paying this year. Last week, Cravath, Swaine & Moore—which typically sets the tone for year-end bonuses—announced that its associates will receive between $10,000 and $60,000, depending on their seniority. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom’s year-end bonus amounts match Cravath’s.
