DLA Piper joins Paris office with Frieh Bouhenic

Merger will be effective Oct. 1

Yesterday we told you about the merger of two East Coast firms. Today, we bring you news of yet another law firm marriage.

DLA Piper announced yesterday that it will join its Paris office with the French boutique law firm Frieh Bouhenic. The merger will be effective Oct. 1 and will boost DLA Piper’s Paris presence by adding 26 lawyers for a total of more than 30 partners and 60 other lawyers.

According to DLA Piper’s press release, the combined global firm will “service the needs of a multitude of French, European, Middle Eastern and U.S. companies and multinational corporations, commercial and investment banks, private equity and other investment funds.”

Frieh Bouhenic was formed last year when Frieh & Associes merged with Bouhenic Baudin & Associes. Frieh Bouhenic Partner and Co-Founder Michel Frieh will jointly lead the new combined Paris firm with DLA Piper Partner Bijan Eghbal, who currently heads DLA Piper’s Paris Employment, Pensions and Benefits team.
