Judge dismisses daters’ lawsuit against Match.com

Subscribers complained that the dating service failed to remove fake or inactive user profiles

A Texas judge showed Match.com some love Friday, dismissing the bulk of a subscriber suit against the online dating service.

The disgruntled daters filed the class action suit in 2010, claiming that Match.com promised customers millions of potential matches, even though more than half of the site’s profiles were inactive, fake or created by scammers. The lawsuit alleged breach of contract and deceptive trade practices.
