On Monday, career website Vault.com, which provides rankings and ratings on universities and employers, released its 2013 Law Firm Diversity Rankings. The survey found Carlton Fields on top for the fourth straight year, trailed by Ropes & Gray and Littler Mendelson.
Vault compiled the rankings from a survey of 17,000 law firm associates, who rated their employers’ performance in diversity initiatives and recruiting women, LGBT and other minority attorneys. By averaging scores across categories, Vault came up with the firms that excel the most in “overall diversity.”
“A firm’s commitment to diversity is a key metric for quality of life issues,” Vault.com Law Editor Rachel Marx said in a statement. “Vault’s Diversity Rankings allow candidates to gauge the level of their potential employers’ commitment to diversity, as perceived by current associates at the firms.”
