The International Trade Commission (ITC) is giving Apple a do-over. The commission announced on Monday that it would revisit its initial ruling that the iPhone-maker infringed on one of the four patents Motorola Mobility accused it of violating.
This is just one of many legal battles raging in the smartphone industry right now, as Apple wages war against companies that manufacture smartphones using Google’s Android operating system.
The patent in question in this case is for eliminating noise during voice and data messages. Motorola Mobility also wanted the ITC judge to ban the infringing devices from being imported to the U.S.
The ITC is expected to issue its reviewed and final ruling sometime in August.
