Micron and Oracle settle chip-pricing lawsuit

Oracle sued Micron over price hikes of memory chips

Micron Technology Inc. announced yesterday that it has reached a settlement agreement with Oracle Corp. over memory chip price increases.

Oracle filed suit against Micron in 2010, claiming the semiconductor manufacturer conspired to increase DRAM chip prices between 1998 and 2002 after the Department of Justice (DOJ) launched an investigation against Micron for memory chip price fixing. Micron cooperated with officials, and the DOJ did not bring legal action against the company.

Micron said yesterday that its agreement with Oracle releases it from all claims arising out of this litigation. However, the company did not release details of the settlement.
