Changes are afoot at the Pro Bono Partnership. The organization, which is dedicated to providing business and transactional legal services to non-profits serving disadvantaged people in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, announced yesterday that it elected Mark Nordstrom chairman of its board of directors.

Nordstrom spends his days at GE as senior counsel, labor and employment law. He is responsible for all aspects of GE’s human resources policies and practices, as well as maintaining the company’s alternative dispute resolution programs. He’s been with the company since 1989.

Nordstrom will succeed Peter Gutermann, who recently was appointed vice president and general counsel at UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems. Gutermann will remain on the Pro Bono Partnership board as vice chairman.

The Pro Bono Partnership also announced that Frank Jimenez will join the board. Jimenez is senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Xylem Inc., a water technology company.
