5 noteworthy in-house career moves

Charting some of the most recent GC and in-house appointments


Steven Worth joined SilkRoad Technology, Inc. as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. In his new role he will help manage compliance, risk management and corporate transactions for the software provider. Worth previously served as vice president, general counsel and secretary at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc.

 

Wisconsin Energy Corp. appointed Susan Martin as general counsel, executive vice president and corporate secretary. Since 2007, Martin has served as the company's associate general counsel, corporate secretary and vice president.

 

Tax software provider Vertex Inc. named Cathy Kiselyak Austin its new general counsel. Austin will provide counsel on domestic and global development, acquisition of technology and protection of intellectual property rights. Austin was formerly a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice group at Drinker Biddle & Reath.

 

Other In-House Moves

Robert Connolly, general counsel of BlackRock Inc. announced his retirement after 15 years with the money management firm. Senior advisor Matthew Mallow was named interim general counsel. Mallow joined the company 18 months ago, but has worked with the company's asset manager since BlackRock's initial public offering in 1999. He was formerly partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.


Farrah Pepper joined General Electric as executive counsel for discovery. In this capacity, Pepper will serve as GE’s legal expert on discovery strategies and processes for litigation. Pepper previously was of counsel at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she also served as vice chair and a founder of the firm’s e-discovery practice group.
