ThelmoGC Appointments

American Cleaning Institute hired Joanne Thelmo as vice president and general counsel. Thelmo was previously general counsel and senior vice president at the National Community Pharmacists Association.

Webster

Climax Metal Products Co. added Ashlee Webster as its general counsel and director of human resources She previously worked as an attorney for Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo.

Sawhney

Wipro Ltd. appointed Inderpreet Sawhney senior vice president and general counsel. Sawhney has 20 years of experience practicing law in both India and the U.S., and previously served as the managing partner of The Chugh Firm’s Silicon Valley office.

Thornton

WGL Holdings Inc. announced the hiring of Leslie Thornton as vice president and general counsel. Thornton previously was chief of staff to the secretary of education, and a White House advisor during the Clinton administration.

Winghart

Monica Winghart joined Article One Partners as its first general counsel and executive vice president after seven years as the head of IP litigation at Clorox. Winghart joins the patent research company as it opens its offices in Palo Alto, Calif.

Joyce2

Christopher Joyce joined Aveta Inc. as general counsel. Joyce was previously executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions and general counsel for Alliance Health Services.

Groman

The Network Advertising Initiative appointed Marc Groman executive director and general counsel. Groman formerly served as the chief privacy officer of the Federal Trade Commission and will specialize in handling privacy issues in his new role.

Willhite

Legendary Entertainment named J. Martin Willhite general counsel. Willhite previously served as a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where he represented the William Morris Agency and advised Spyglass Entertainment on employment and equity ownership matters.

Wilson

The International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM) hired Glenn R. Wilson as executive vice president and general counsel, a newly created position. Wilson previously was a partner at McIntyre, Kahn & Kruse Co. in Cleveland.

Carroll

David S. Carroll joined the Saratoga Builders Association Inc., a not-for-profit trade organization, as general counsel. Carroll serves as of counsel to Anderson Byrne PLLC, and also is the co-founder and managing director of Northeast Government Consulting.

Miller
D. Michael Miller

D. Michael Miller retired as general counsel of American Electric Power, and David M. Feinberg was promoted to senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Feinberg previously served as senior vice president and general counsel of AEP Service Corp, a subsidiary to the electric company.

Smith

The Salt Lake Chamber named Wesley Smith general counsel and executive vice president of government relations, after Smith served as director of public policy for the past three years. Smith will handle legal expertise as well as government relations efforts in his new role at Utah’s business association.
