GC Appointments
The Retail Industry Leaders Association hired Deborah White as executive vice president and general counsel. White will oversee all association corporate governance and related legal activities, as well as serve as president of the Retail Litigation Center.
BBC Worldwide appointed Martyn Freeman as its first-ever general counsel. Freeman will also become a member of the organization’s executive board and has handled BBC Worldwide’s legal and business affairs since 2002.
Other In-House Moves
Superior Uniform Group Inc. promoted Jordan M. Alpert to general counsel, vice president and secretary. Jordan joined the company in March as general counsel and was formerly a general counsel for Grand Army Entertainment.
Gayle Stratmann
Gayle G. Stratmann, vice president and general counsel of Energizer Holdings Inc. since March 2003, announced her retirement from the company. Mark S. LaVigne will succeed Stratmann as general counsel. LaVigne previously served as secretary and assistant general counsel for Energizer.
Sysco Corp. promoted General Counsel, Vice President and Secretary Russell Libby, to senior vice president. Libby will continue to oversee the company’s legal affairs, mergers and acquisitions.
