Spider-Man director sues Broadway show’s producers

Julie Taymor claims copyright infringement in her suit

The former director and co-book writer of the seemingly cursed Spider-Man Broadway production has filed suit against the show’s producers earlier this week, claiming copyright infringement. Producers fired Tony Award winning director Julie Taymor from the Spider-Man production in March after the show experienced delays and multiple accidents, which became big stories in the media.

According to her suit, Taymor claims the show’s producers have not compensated her for her work on the show, which is the most expensive musical to hit Broadway. The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, seeks "compensatory and statutory damages, a declaratory judgment and injunctive relief."
