The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. hired James E. Odell as first deputy general counsel. Odell has 25 years of legal expertise in the financial services industry and formerly was general counsel for UBS Investment Bank in the Americas.
Steven E. Boyce joined global technology provider Excelitas Technologies as vice president, general counsel and secretary. Previously, Boyce was senior corporate counsel of Cisco Systems Mobility Internet Technology Group.
Universal Forest Products Inc. promoted David A. Tutas to general counsel. Tutas previously was director of the legal department and joined the corporation as an attorney in 2003.
Gregory L. Call was promoted to senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Encore Capital Group, Inc. Call joined Encore in January 2010. Previously he served as general counsel of Gateway Inc.
Recurrent Energy promoted Judith Hall to chief legal officer and general counsel. Previously, Hall served as associate general counsel of Babcock & Brown and provided engineering consulting services to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Catherine Flickinger joined the New York Institute of Technology as general counsel. She previously was executive vice president and general counsel at Hachette Filipacchi Media.
Books-A-Million Inc. appointed Tyler Novak general counsel. Novak most recently practiced at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings before joining the book retailer.
Grier C. Raclin joined Scientific Games Corp. as senior vice president and general counsel. Raclin previously served at Thompson Coburn and as chief administrative officer of Charter Communications Inc.
The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) appointed Pedro Torres-Diaz general counsel. Torres-Diaz formerly served as chair of the labor and employment section of the HNBA and voting representative on its Board for the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida.
Jerome R. Smith joined Multimedia Games Holding Co. Inc. as senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary. He formerly was general counsel at Shuffle Master Inc.
Ashland Inc. named Peter Ganz senior vice president and general counsel. He was elected by the board of directors and also will be a member of the executive committee.
Maria Green was promoted to vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Illinois Tool Works Inc. Green previously was deputy general counsel at the company.
Hearst Corp. promoted Jonathan Donnellan to deputy general counsel litigationand Mark Redman to deputy general counsel-corporate. Both lawyers previously were senior counsel at the corporation. Donnellan has been at Hearst since 2003, and formerly was deputy general counsel at the New York Daily News and assistant general counsel at CNN. Redman, who also joined the company in 2003, previously was director of legal affairs for SmartMoney magazine, as wellas vice president and general counsel forFreeRide.com.
The Gas Company LLC announced that Nathan C. Nelson has joined the company as vice president, general counsel and secretary. Nelson is responsible for legal and regulatory affairs, and reports to the president and CEO for fiduciary obligations. Nelson replaced George Aoki, who had served in these roles and retired earlier this year.
Wintrust Financial Corp. announced that Lisa Reategui has joined the company as general counsel and corporate secretary. Previously, Reategui worked at Sidley Austin for more than six years, and focused on corporate governance and securities matters.
Applied Minerals Inc. announced the appointment of William Gleeson as general counsel. Gleeson served as the company’s outside counsel for the past three years. Prior to his position, Gleeson was a partner at K&L Gates for 11 years.
