There’s a changing of the counsel guard at Walgreens. Effective yesterday, Walgreens’ Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Dana Green officially retired after 37 years of leal service. The company hired Thomas Sabatino Jr. to take her place.
Sabatino comes to Walgreens with a wealth of experience in the general counsel role. Most recently, he was general counsel of United Airlines, where he was a leader in the company’s merger negotiations with Continental Airlines, but left the company earlier this year after the merger’s completion. Prior to this, he spent five years as general counsel at Schering-Plough, which he left in 2009 after its merger with Merck & Co.
