LegalZoom and Missouri reach a settlement

Company admits no wrongdoing in the agreement

The legal battle that ensued last month between Missouri and LegalZoom.com, an online service that allows people to create their own legal documents, has ended with the two parties settling, the AP reported on Monday.

Missouri had sued LegalZoom, claiming the company violated a 1939 state law prohibiting nonlawyers from preparing legal documents. In the settlement, LegalZoom admits to no wrongdoing, and Missouri will allow it to continue to offer services to its residents—but with some changes.
