NASCAR in trouble over text messages

Class action suit claims organization sent unsolicited texts

Plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit against NASCAR this week, claiming the organization violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by sending unsolicited text messages. The suit said the messages promoted coverage of the 2011 Daytona 500 on Sprint phones.

The organization faces $1,500 fines for each violation.
