Electronics companies LG and Sony reached an agreement to settle 24 patent infringement lawsuits pertaining to digital TVs, Blu-ray players and mobile handsets. The companies have agreed to cross-license their technologies.
Sony filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) against LG in late 2010. In the complaint, Sony said LG infringed on Sony’s patents around mobile phone technology. Several months later, LG complained to the ITC that Sony violated LG’s patents on electronics devices and components related to Blu-ray players.
Both Sony and LG declined to comment further on the settlement details.
