Daniel J. Meltzer, story professor of law and vice dean for planning at Harvard Law School and former White House deputy council, addressed SuperConference attendees as keynote speaker for day 1 of the conference.
Carrie J. Hightman, executive vice president and CLO of NiSource Inc., Karen Ripley, CLO of MillerCoors LLC and Marc Firestone, executive vice president, corporate and legal affairs and general counsel of Kraft Foods Inc. addressed SuperConference attendees and answered questions during the keynote panel, "Managing Up: Ways on Managing the Board, CEO & CFO."
Michael Wu and Alisa Key, general counsel and associate general counsel for Rosetta Stone, respectively, shared their experiences defending against trademark infringement in a panel discussion in the "IP Enforcement: Protecting Your Brand & Content Within New Media" breakout session.
During lunch, conference attendees were invited to participate in special roundtable discussions.
During "Metrics for Managing the In-House Department," Medtronic General Counsel D. Cameron Findlay and Rees Morrison and Associates President Rees Morrison shared insights for leveraging data in legal departments.
Ashish Prasad, CEO of Discovery Services LLC, moderated a panel discussion on "Proactive Techniques for Defending Government Investigations."
Linda E. Lu, of the corporate legal division at Allstate Insurance Co., spoke about climbing the corporate ladder at a special session for in-house young professionals.
Attendees finished the day networking at a cocktail reception.
