Conference Concurrence

Authority for the use of electronic searches to produce relevant and responsive data comes from a variety of sources including The Sedona Conference. The conference brings together jurists, lawyers, academics and other experts to publish principles and best practices in areas of law including e-discovery.

The Sedona Conference Best Practices state "reliance solely on a manual search process for the purpose of finding responsive documents may be infeasible or unwarranted."

The Sedona Principles recognize the use of "electronic tools and processes, such as data sampling, searching, or the use of selection criteria, to identify data reasonably likely to contain relevant information."
