Chartis Inc., the property and casualty unit of AIG, appointed Thomas Scherer senior VP and general counsel. Previously he was special litigation counsel and chief compliance officer at Swiss Reinsurance Co.
Telecommunications provider Arbinet Corp. named Christie Hill general counsel. Prior to joining the Herndon, Va.-based company, Hill served as the oversight liaison executive to the TARP program in the Department of the Treasury.
Food safety solutions firm Silliker Group Corp., based in Homewood, Ill., appointed Chris McVety vice president of legal affairs and secretary. Previously McVety was a partner in the Business and Finance Practice Group at Reed Smith.
Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, appointed Caren Cook Burbach general counsel for the Office of the Governor. Prior to the appointment, Burbach specialized in intellectual property matters and business law with the University of Texas System Office of General Counsel.
Brad Molotsky was promoted to executive vice president and general counsel of Pa.-based Brandywine Realty Trust. He previously was the company's senior vice president and general counsel. Brandywine also promoted Lisa Hunn Barber from associate general counsel to vice president and associate general counsel.
Mercy Health Partners--Kentucky Region named Jeff Waldo general counsel. He joins the regional hospital from Medical Management Inc., where he served as chief legal officer.
