In-house Counsel Career Changes

Chevron Corp., based in San Ramon, Calif., named R. Hewitt Pate vice president and general counsel. Previously he was in charge of the global competition practice at Hunton & Williams in Washington, D.C. Pate replaces Charles James, who was promoted to executive vice president.

LyondellBasell, a Netherlands-based petrochemicals company, named Craig Glidden executive vice president and chief legal officer. He will work in Houston. Glidden was previously senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., a petrochemicals subsidiary of Chevron Corp.

Bank of America Corp., based in Charlotte, N.C., promoted Edward O'Keefe to general counsel. Previously he was deputy general counsel for the company. He is the company's third general counsel in less than a year, following Tim Mayopoulos, who left the company without explanation, and Brian Moynihan, who was promoted.

Glendale, Calif.-based DineEquity Inc., the parent company of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and IHOP Restaurants, named Randi Val Morrison senior vice president, secretary and general counsel. Previously, she was senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of CSK Auto Corp., an automobile parts and accessories retailer.

Kristen Pauling Doyle was named general counsel of the Austin, Texas-based Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. Previously she was a principal attorney at Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend in Austin.

Tucker, Ga.-based Oglethorpe Power Corp. named Charles (Chuck) Whitney senior vice president and general counsel. Previously he was a managing partner of the Atlanta office of Duane Morris.

Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc., a Houston-based global material handling equipment manufacturer, named P.J. Malak general counsel. Previously he was assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary for the company.

Phoenix-based hotel chain Best Western International named Lawrence Cuculic vice president and general counsel. Previously he was senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Lafayette, Ind.-based Wabash National Corp.

The Business Software Alliance, a Washington, D.C.-based software industry trade group, named Jodie Kelley general counsel and vice president of anti-piracy. Previously, Kelley was vice president and general counsel of Fannie Mae.

Walnut Creek, Calif.-based PMI Group Inc., an insurance company, promoted Andrew Cameron--the company's former group senior vice president, general counsel and secretary--to executive vice president.

Fitness Together Holdings Inc., a Highlands Ranch, Colo.-based personal training company, named Amy Powers executive vice president and general counsel. Previously she was senior vice president and assistant general counsel for the Quiznos sandwich franchise.

Minneapolis-based medical device maker Medtronic Inc. named Cameron Findlay senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Previously he was executive vice president and general counsel at Aon Corp.

San Francisco-based insurance company Delta Dental of California promoted Charles Lamont to chief legal
officer and executive vice president. Previously, he was the company's senior vice president for legal and compliance. Lamont replaces Robert Becker, who retired.

Newell Rubbermaid, the Atlanta-based commercial products manufacturer, promoted John Stipancich to general counsel. Previously he was general counsel for the company's Tools, Hardware & Commercial Products Group, the Food & Home Products and the Decor units. He replaces Dale Matschullat, who will retire at the end of the year.
